Deep ruby red color with an aroma of cedar and dark fruit, namely blackberry. There are also slight hints of chocolate and licorice. The licorice really opens up later on woth some aeration. Medium weight with soft tannins and a nice long finish.The unique thing about this wine is that the finish really does taste something like licorice.
Excellent and a solid B+ wine. An excellent value at $22 from Astor Wines.
I haven’t had many of the 2005 Bordeaux but this is certainly the best one I’ve had to date.
